Future Confirmed Record Attempts:
Latest Record Attempt Results
Saturday 30th March 2019
Josh Clayton found the conditions too tough in his attempt to break the 8 hour merino ewe record at Oxton Park, Harden, NSW, Australia. Convening Referee Ian Buchanan reported the sheep being very good but had been ‘hanging around too long’ and the actual day was blowing, cold and sleeting causing them to go off further. Being 14 short of the 467 required to break the existing record was a very good effort by Josh.
Referees were: Ian Buchanan N Z (convener), Peter Artridge, David Brooker, Ralph Blue Australia.
Saturday 8th September 2018
Steven Mudford set a new World Record shearing 373 merino wethers in 8 hours at Parkdale SRS Merino Stud, Dubbo, NSW, Australia surpassing Dave Grant's 356 set back in 2007 at Hughenden, Queensland, Australia.
A very good effort by Steven considering drought conditions at Dubbo caused postponement of the attempt by over three months, enabling the wool weight to be reached.
Referees on the day were Robert McLaren (Convener) N Z, Ralph Blue, Grant Borchardt, Mike Henderson, Australia.
